My story

From the edit suite to the classroom.

I have been in the media industry since 1991. That is 35 years as a broadcast video editor and camera operator, working across all of Australia's major television networks. I learned the craft the demanding way, on real deadlines, where the story has to land and the turnaround is fast.

Along the way I trained editors well beyond Australia, including with MTV Europe and Disney. Teaching quickly became the part I loved most: watching someone go from nervous to capable, and seeing the moment it clicks.

Back in 2013, working with ABC Open, I trained my very first ranger group, the Laura Rangers in Cape York. Helping First Nations teams tell their own stories has stayed close to my heart ever since.

These days I bring that same broadcast craft to time-poor professionals and teams who never trained in video. I keep it plain and practical. People tell me I am approachable and energetic, and that the detail still matters to me, because it does. I am a TAE-qualified trainer, so the way I teach is built to actually stick.

What I stand for

How I work with you.

Everything I do is built around your team and what you actually need to make. Here is what stays the same, whoever I am working with.

Approachable

Plain language, patient, and genuinely warm. No egos, no confusing terms, no making you feel behind.

Attention to detail

Broadcast standards do not switch off. The small finishing touches are what make a video feel professional.

Human first

Your voice stays real. AI speeds up the boring parts; it never fakes the story or flattens who you are.

A quiet commitment

Doing this the responsible way.

I try to run eMotion Video lightly, working local, keeping travel sensible and making the most of the gear teams already own. It is a small business doing its bit, honestly.
